It’s been a busy year for Mandy Moore. In March, she married Ryan Adams, and last month, she gave birth to Amanda Leigh. Now, before the rumor mill starts cranking, Mandy didn’t have a baby — she released a new album! We chatted with Mandy (and in some cases, Ryan!) about the record, her marriage, and more. What would she do if she heard “Candy” playing in a store? You won’t know unless you read on!

The video for first single “I Could Break Your Heart” rocks! How did the concept come about?
I loved it immediately. [The director] didn’t know that I liked martial arts, and it was a random, serendipitous detail. I like that it involved a sense of humor and wasn’t just a beauty video — there was some edge and story woven in. I thought it would be a fun little jump to make in terms of my video experience!
